What an Honor to be on the Front Page of as a Success Story!

I woke up this morning to find me profiled on the front page of  As their Author Success Story.  Wow.

Kailin Gow Success Story on Front Page of Amazon on 4-30-2013

When I first became an author, I never thought I would be doing this as a living and getting recognized for something I have such a passion for:  writing books

I published my first book in 2001 as a means to help girls and teens to deal with social situations that were hard to talk to someone about by way of fiction.  By some fluke, my fantasty books and books for girls, teens, young adults, and women took off, and found a resonance with readers.

I’ve been fortunate in so many ways to get to this point. It had been a long journey filled with thrills and spills (mostly all good, though) but the revolution of KDP has helped me get there faster.

Here’s the rest of my story from Amazon, which I hope will inspire you to be more than you imagined, too!

Never Land and Never Say Never Music Video Stills from the Set!

We finally have professional photos from the set of the Never Knight Series Music Video!

Me as EP (Executive Producer) sitting next to music star AJ Raphael, who belts out the main song in this video with an incredible voice that belies his youthful looks!  AJ is not only a very talented performer, but he has a big heart, establishing a non-profit bringing awareness to music therapy for autism called Music Speaks.

I’ve had the fortune to be working with a fun, but highly professional cast and crew, which made this production go very smoothly.

Me and Producer Don Le, who produced Kina Grannis’ video.

I worked with the team who produced Kina Grannis’ music video and had a wealth of experience producing popular music videos for some of the internet’s biggest personalities.  If you don’t know who Kina Grannis is, you will.  Her music is everywhere, and she is an indie sensation like Justin Bieber, from being indie to signing with a major record label.

The Epic Red Camera – any filmmaker would salivate over having one of these to film with – it is what its name says – Epic!

I’m not going to give away the music video’s story before it comes out, but here are a few stills from the set.  To give you an idea of the extent of this music video and the amount of work put into it, we had an entire staff including choreographer, make-up, art department, gaffer, A.D., and more.  I’m speaking from a producer’s view at the moment, setting aside my author’s hat.

The shirtless muscular guys rehearsing their moves with our choreographer.

To say this video is the most fun production project I’ve had (or at I’ve never laughed so much and so hard), is an understatement.

It was the kind of project where everyone had to laugh.  A feel good project.  And in the end, there’s a powerful message about men and women that is the theme of the Never Knights Series.

Taking the Time to Breathe and Other Announcements

Hi Everyone,
It’s been a while since i’ve posted something personal on my blog (not that having a book birthday isn’t personal), but I wanted this to come straight from me.

I haven’t had the time to do so many things which I should be doing.  Including breathing and sleeping.

I kid you not, breathing.  Breathing as in deep breaths of relaxation, zen, yoga, reflection and meditation.

Sleeping. Well…you know what that is.  Hopefully.  If not, you’re a walking zombie, *cough* insomniac –  like I am.

So I’ve had health issues come up, which I’ve been taking care of for a while.  Yesterday, I found out after months of dedicated life changes – sleeping more, exercising, eating right, relaxing, taking vacations;  I have reversed what I had.  Some say this is a miracle.   People have never heard it can be done.  Well… I’m happy to say, yesterday I analyzed my results with my doctor and nutritionist, and it appears I’m “Normal”.

What do I have?  Here’s a BIG HINT – Aunt Sookie in my book Loving Summer is based on what I have.  With complications that could kill someone instantly, if not watched.

It takes dedication and hard work to reverse this condition, to change the way you look at things, the way you live, to fight it, just like anything else like quitting smoking, quitting drinking, sticking to a schedule to finish writing a book.  But if I can do it, so can you.

So here comes my next announcement:

Balance is the key.  I’m usually good about balancing, but now I know I have to shift a bit to make room for some other awesomeness and experiences to come into my life.  So, I’m going to be slowing down a bit on my release schedules for my books.

The series I have will continue until the end of each, but they have to be staggered out a bit further.   Releasing 3 to 4 books in a month is downright crazy insane busy!!!!  Most authors release that in 2 years…so I realize I could take it slower, relax more, do more yoga.

So I’m cannibalizing myself, plus I didn’t even have the time to send out the ARCs for my last release, Fire Dance until it was released.  Let alone email everyone that it’s out or market it.  So, folks, I’ll spend more time marketing and promoting.

Oh, BTW, Fire Dance is out, and because I haven’t announce it was, it’s out, and I’m now having a Man-Sorry-I-Didn’t-Tell-You-It’s-Out Special at 99 cents for this week and next!

Along with Bitter Frost being 99 cents this week and next!

Never Land (Never Knights #2)

is on schedule to release this coming Monday, September 24, 2012!  The music video will be released some time after.  Casting has moved to get a well-known actor or singer for the lead so this will take some time to have done, but it’s coming!  (Someone from Twilight or Glee may come  on board or a popular singer or a popular comedian.  Not telling until it gets close. *grins) But it is definitely a music video to watch. Can’t wait until you see it!

My Appearance at CBS TV was a Blast! Check out the Interview!

Everything went perfectly well the day I appeared on CBS Television LIVE!  No editing, no pre-recording, but LIVE.  Anything could have happened.  And that’s the beauty of LIVE television.  It brings me back to the days of old television when sitcoms like I Love Lucy were live performances in front of an audience.

Needless to say, I was not nervous at all.  I loved it.  Reminds me of the days when I wrote, directed, and acted in my own plays during college.  I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and I thank everyone at CBS and KCAL and my awesome supportive team at for making it happen.

Here’s the Article and Video on CBS News’ Website

Interview on WGAU Talk Radio about Bullying, Self-Esteem, and Saving YOU Saving ME!

How many of you have heard about the study from Oklahoma where researchers are now finding that bullying is starting at an earlier age – age 5 now and one of the things these 5 year olds are targeting are overweight kids?

Barbara Dooley of top Talk Radio WGAU had me on to talk about this, and to talk about tolerance and self-esteem as it relates to teen issues, as well.  One of the message I wanted to convey, and that Barbara Dooley picked up also was that we, as society, can do something about bullying and other social issues that affects children and teens, who grow up to be young adults in their late teens, twenties, and even whatever age that have lifelong issues.

Here’s the interview with Barbara Dooley in WGAU (Athens, Georgia) and syndicated nationally:

I also talk about my non-fiction book for all ages:

The Shy Girls Social Club Handbook for Dealing with Bullies

and Other Meanies

Any of you heard about this study or any bully incidences lately? If so, let us know.  Knowledge is power, and awareness brings this issue to the surface so those being bullied or are bullying can find help to deal with it.

Radio Show Interviews Continue for Saving You Saving Me! Also, some true trivia about Saving You Saving Me.

Just went through a whirlwind of blog tours for Saving You Saving Me, along with some radio interviews.  I liked to thank most of the bloggers on the tour for being so professional and easy-to-work with!  It was a blast to feature Daggers interview, Sam’s interview, Text chats between Collins and Sam, my Dream Cast, and more!

This week, while I’m finishing up on my end of Summer books with the edits, and even halfway through the third book of the You & Me Trilogy, I’ll let you know that I’ll be on another top 15 radio talk show… News Talk  WGAU from Georgia. ( talking about Saving You Saving Me and Self-Esteem.

Seems like most everyone understands Saving You Saving Me is about Sam’s journey and the Call Center issues, too, rather than some interesting comparisons that I can only be flattered about, but I’ll hopefully get a chance to address some things, too.

TRUE TRIVIA about Saving you Saving Me

1) Saving You Saving Me, is very much base on a true story – A childhood friend suffered abuse, and from looking at her, you would only see a perfect beautiful and wealthy successful young woman.

2) Relationship contracts are very real, too.  Before I started a serious relationship, an attorney friend of mine told me to come up with one.  She did with her attorney husband before they became serious, and 1 provision from him was, to not cut her hair, but to keep it long. Although I didn’t come up with one, I know of people with high net worth who have formed relationship contracts or pledges with each other just to make the relationship clear before there are any misunderstandings and time investment.  Interesting huh?

3) The relationship of a wealthy young entrepreneur and an innocent student girl is very real.  My college roommate in her freshman year had this kind of relationship, and we went to church together, and although initially it appeared like there were a big difference between them on the surface, it didn’t matter. She fell for a guy living in a multimillion dollar beach house in the OC, and he eventually fell for her, too.  With a happy ending, I might add, which makes me smile to this day 😀

4) Collins McGregor – yes, there are gorgeous superwealthy hot men like him in real life, with some issues that keep them single.  How else are there so many unmarried gorgeous men around.  What keeps them from settling?  Lots of things that stems back to…issues from the past, etc.

But of course, there’s a lot more details in Saving You Saving Me because it’s fiction.

Anyways, hope you all have a great week ahead of you, and to all moms out there (including myself ha ha), enjoy yourself, pick up a good escape book, get a spa treatment, do something good for yourself!  You deserve it!

Taste Of Tuesdays – Valentine’s Day Edition

Happy Valentine’s Day!

To Celebrate Valentine’s Day, this Taste of Tuesdays teasers post will consist of some teasers from the lovely men from some of the more romantic series I have available.  Their words will keep your heart warm, but better yet, their stories and devotion to their women will make you fall head over heels in love with them.

“I’ll be here for you, always.” He kissed me again, hard and possessive, as though he feared I’d disappear from his life. “You’ll never want for anything, Kama. Whatever you wish for, I’ll make sure you have it. Whatever it takes to make you happy, I’ll do all I can to make it a reality. You’re my past, present, and future, Kama.” – Liam, DESIRE

“We are meant to be.” He pressed his lips to mine again; against myself, against my worry, I once again succumbed to the power of his kiss. “I know that now. Our love is stronger than magic, stronger than the laws of all Feyland. It will survive this…whatever the future brings.” – Prince Kian, Silver Frost (Frost Series #3)

“Maybe it’s better this way,” he said. “I can protect you like this, protect Justin, in a way I never could if I were human. I had my chance to experience what it was like to be human for the first time in seven hundred years, even if it was only for a few days. And yes, it’s true, I loved it. But not because I was human, Kalina. But because I was with you, because I could be with you without being afraid of my bloodlust. I want to be with you, human or not. I only want you.” – Jaegar, Blue Blood (PULSE #4)

From HEAVEN AND HELL (Beautiful Beings  #2)

“Moore, I…” The words caught in my throat.  I wasn’t ready to discuss my emotions… not yet.  There was still too much to find out, about him… about Brax.

He stroked my cheek with the back of his fingers.  “Why can’t you just say you love me?”

My tongue poked into my cheek, stubborn in its refusal to speak.

“Do you love me, Lux?” He persisted.

I nodded and was rewarded with a broad grin.

“Don’t gloat,” I warned.

“Never.”  He brushed his lips over mine and then winked. “Now let’s get you down from here before you hurt yourself.”- Moore, Heaven and Hell (Beautiful Beings #2)

Happy Dreams and may love live on forever!
